About Seanna's Exotic Birds

    We are a small exotic bird business with two locations. One is located in North Carolina and  the other is in Lake City, Florida. The reason for the two locations is to meet the accommodations of all of our 100 birds. We specialize primarily in macaws, but have others available. At this point and time all babies are parent raised--we have not found it necessary to incubate our babies. We feel that parent raised babies are bigger healthier babies. The babies are left with the parents until 3 weeks of age weather permitting. The babies are then pulled from the nest and hand feeding begins inside our home. For the first 5-7 days the babies are kept inside a brooder until stable. They are then transferred into small bins and the socialization process begins. They are held, cuddled, talked to, and played with. They are introduced to a pellet/seed diet, rice, pasta, fruits, veggies, cereals, nuts, and are given maintenance formula feedings to ensure they are receiving adequate nutrition at 6-7 weeks of age. We do not force wean our babies. Some of our babies are beginning to perch, step up, and some say "hello" before being shipped because of our interaction with them. We try our best to screen potential buyers because the purchase of any large bird is a life long commitment ( view our care & caution page ) . We also want to know how the placement is working and if the placement is not working we want to be notified. With the purchase of any bird, you need to know that your home will never be the same. Imagine what it is going to be like having a 5 year old around for the next 50 or so years. We view our birds as small children with the intelligence of a 5-6 year old. They have feelings and emotions. They can express love, hurt, sadness, anger, mistrust, and all other emotions we as humans can feel. They fall in love with the opposite sex as we do and prefer to pick their own mates. That is how we ended up with 40 pairs of macaws in two locations. They know how to be manipulative but they don't know how to lie. They are magnificent creatures with some displaying all the colors of the rainbow. They know the true meaning of family because if you mess with one you mess with them all. They also give love unconditionally only asking for food, water, and a clean condo. They are social creatures who do not like being alone or kept in the dark. If you feel that you can supply all these needs please call us.
